报告内容:
Nonlinear optics, a big pillar of light-matter interaction, has been actively researched since its first demonstration in 1961 by Franken where a second harmonic field is generated by interaction of a strong laser field and a crystalline quartz. The application of even stronger laser fields on solid materials led to a generation of high-order harmonics1. High-harmonic generation (HHG) can be used as a probe of electronic properties2, including the reconstruction of Berry curvature3. In this talk, we will give an overview of HHG and its spectroscopy from condensed matter. In addition, we will discuss one example where high harmonic spectroscopy can be used to probe coherent phonons, bandgap dynamics, and structural phase transition6.
